Connecting job seekers with companies in a better way..

So I was looking for a job. Where to start ?

I asked a couple of friends. Got to know, a company where my friend's friend works has an opening. Many of my friends suggested to post my resume in naukri.com. I got calls from different companies. Finally got a job. Now where is the problem ?

Typically companies look for people whom they can trust with work, and collaboration with the teams. So what do they do in general ?

They ask for referrals from the employees.

I have so many friends who are working in various companies. But I don't know if any(most) of them looking for new people on their teams. And my friends(most) don't know that I am looking for a job (it's an extensive circle of friends). How can we reduce this gap ? How can we make this communication better ?

Solution:
Lets take LinkedIn as a starting point since it has profiles of almost all professionals, when somebody is looking for a job, a small notification (alert) sent to people who are his/her friends, those who work in similar/same fields. Now its up to your friends if they want to refer you. You will receive some notification if they refer you. In short, job seekers will be connected to companies by a simple alert at the common connection. Since many companies offer incentive on referrals, there is a motive for the common connection too.

There is a cool advantage here. Recruiters don't need to wait for your resume if your profile is an updated one. Moreover, your connections can be helpful for the recruiters' companies with getting new clients, suggestions to become better, since most of our contacts are people we know personally/professionally. Its not about just you getting into a company but you can help others (in your connections) to get into one.

In the mean time you can still apply for jobs in which you are interested outside this eco-system.

When you are applying for job, think that its not just about you, its about a hidden eco-system you can leverage on and help it. Be social...!
